Softrol's microPulse Wet Process Controller has many advanced features for formulating chemical additions in your processes. Each chemical can be assigned a name and a delivery unit. By using these assigned names and units, the process formulation becomes easier and more powerful. As an example of this, consider the difference between the following formula statements when creating processes:
Add 116 seconds Chemical #1 (Ugly!)Add 58 oz. pH 7 Buffer (Beautiful!)
Since each chemical is calibrated for each machine, standardized formulas may be administered across several machines or "Groups" of machines.
Another powerful feature of the microPulse is the capability to program an OPERATOR SELECTED quantity of chemical in the middle of a process. This is accomplished by programming 0 units of a chemical to be added in the formula. When the instruction is encountered in a formula, the control will prompt the operator to key in the desired units of chemical to be delivered. Consider the following:
The following line is programmed into the formula:
Add 0 oz. pH Buffer 7
When the instruction is encountered in the process, the control will signal the operator alarm and display:
pH Buffer 7
Key in oz.
Press Enter To Accept
The operator would key in the appropriate number of oz. needed for the process and then press Enter.
The 0 unit addition is also very helpful when performing new process development.
